I very much have the exact same thoughts as discussed by Gwyneth, I too lost my greatest fan, role model heart and soul last year. My father was and continues to be my everything. This great loss has been a whirlwind of emotions that nobody could ever prepare me for. The only peace I find while grieving is that I must remember his greatness and love for me, at the very least it is comforting that I have no regrets about our relationship. Most of my girlfriends have minimal to zero contact with their fathers, so I take great joy and pride that I had such a special dad. My biggest fear in moving forward is simply how will I be happy, find true joy? I've also found this journey interesting in that now I am learning that my mother and I have to work on our relationship. Never any issues, just that I've found she actually doesn't know me and I her. My father was such a part of my day to day life - he was the go between and the mother daughter relationship now has a chance to flourish.
